We are located at Ark Lane Scouts Site, Ark Lane, Rochford SS4 1PJ

What is your ratio of male/female children and teachers?

We of course would like a world where we are 50/50 male and female in our children and our staff, however we do not discriminate and so accept the children who register, and the best teachers who apply!

Do you ever close due to bad weather?

No.  However, if there are extreme weather conditions, and our Forest School Leaders do not deem it to be safe outside, indoor provision will be available.

What is your adult to child ratio?

There is a minimum of one adult to every 8 children.  However, each child’s needs are considered and regularly reviewed and accommodated for.

What times are you open?

The children currently attend our setting from 9.30 a.m. – 12.00 p.m. Monday to Friday.

How are you regulated

We are an alternative provision and are not regulated by the Department for Education and Ofsted. We are quality assured by the Local Authority.

How many hours can my child have at Raw Learning?

Your child can have up to 49% of their education with us.  This could be from one morning up to five sessions per week.

Will you have an open day or when can we visit?

Tours are conducted on a Friday morning from 10.00 a.m. to 11.30 a.m.

Can I remain on site with my child while he/she settles in?

Parents may remain with their child on site to support them as they settle in for up to two weeks.  If a longer period of support is needed, we ask parents to please complete a Volunteer Enhanced DBS in order to fulfil our Safeguarding Duties and ensure that our other children are kept safe from any potential risks.

Our rate for schools will be tailored to the individual needs of the child and will be discussed with the host school on application. This is also dependent on whether a child or young person needs individual support / 1-1.
